Racetrack King: book it for the view, but confirm the view
Same bed, same 388 square feet and same amenity list as the Premium King. The difference is the side of the building — or should be.

The name and the label disagree
The hotel's room card for the Racetrack King lists a maximum of two guests, one king bed and 388 square feet — and then the words “City View”. The operator's home page talks about rooms “with front-row views of the racetrack”, the Corner Suite card offers a “Racetrack View” option explicitly, and the 2023 opening release said nearly half the rooms look over Woodbine. Our reading is that the label is a copy-and-paste slip on the room card, but we will not promise you a track view on that basis. When you request this room, we ask the hotel to confirm the outlook for your dates in writing.
What you would be looking at
Woodbine Racetrack lies at the southern end of the property. According to its Wikipedia entry it opened in 1956 and has three racecourses, including the E. P. Taylor turf course, 1.5 miles around. In daylight on a race day you can watch the field come round from your window; Woodbine's calendar, read on 29 October 2026, listed racing from Thursday to Sunday through 29 November 2026, with 1 PM first posts on November weekends. Outside the season, the view is open grass and sky, which is still more than most airport rooms offer.
Is it worth choosing over the Premium King?
For a one-night stopover with a dawn departure, probably not — you will see the view for ten minutes. For a weekend built around racing, or for anyone who likes to wake to open space rather than a car park, yes. Everything else in the room is identical: the bathroom kit, the blackout drapes, the safe, the mini fridge and free Wi-Fi.
Practical notes
- Racing at Woodbine is free to watch except on King's Plate day, so you do not need the room to see the races; it is a comfort, not a ticket.
- If you are driving, tell the front desk your car's make, model and plate at check-in — the hotel requires it for on-site parking.
- The room is non-smoking, like the whole hotel; the house rules set a $1,000 cleaning fee and eviction for a first violation, including vaping.
