What is there
The resort has two connected gaming areas. The Grandstand Casino is the former Casino Woodbine, which opened in 1999 beside the racetrack. The Expansion Casino, with a new gaming floor, opened in June 2023. When the expansion opened, Global News reported 4,800 slot machines and 145 table games across a 33-acre site, and the operator now describes the resort as Canada's largest. There is a poker room on level 2 of the Grandstand Casino and separate high-limit rooms. The operator publishes the hotel and casino as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Who may enter
In Ontario the minimum age for a casino is 19. The operator asks for valid, original government-issued photo ID — a driver's licence, provincial photo card, passport, Secure Indian Status Card, military ID or similar — and does not accept photocopies or pictures on a phone. Its theatre FAQ adds that guests who look younger than 30 may be asked for a second piece of ID. Under-19s may not enter the gaming floor or any restaurant on it, with or without a parent.
How it touches a hotel stay
- Most restaurants are on or beside the gaming floor and are 19+ — see food and drink.
- Children staying at the hotel use the lobby elevators to reach The Theatre and other all-ages areas.
- Pets are not allowed on the gaming floor, except service animals.
- An adult who is gambling is not considered to be supervising a child under the resort's family policy.
Who regulates it
Gaming sites in Ontario are regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) under the Gaming Control Act, 1992. Under the AGCO's standards the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) also counts as an operator. The resort is run by Great Canadian Entertainment; its terms of use name the operating entity as Ontario Gaming GTA Limited Partnership, doing business as One Toronto Gaming.
Help that is on site and off it
At the 2023 opening the operator said the gaming floor had two PlaySmart Centres with information on OLG's voluntary My PlayBreak self-exclusion programme. Off site, ConnexOntario answers 24/7 on 1-866-531-2600 or by texting CONNEX to 247247, free and confidential. Our responsible gambling page sets out the options in more detail.
This guide exists to help you choose and request a hotel room. It carries no offers, promotions or links that encourage gambling, and it never will.
