Parking: the free option is the good option
The hotel calls its garage “well-lit covered parking with 24-hour security”, free to all guests all year, with multiple entrances and easy access to the casino. In winter, a covered space next to the building is worth more than the valet saving suggests: no scraping a windscreen before a 5 AM airport run. Guests parking on site have to give the make, model and plate of the car at check-in.
If you are leaving a car while you fly, note that the hotel does not publish a park-and-fly arrangement. Free parking is listed as part of the room; whether it extends to days you are not staying is a question for the hotel, and we will ask it if you put it in your request.
Valet: when it is worth it
Valet costs about $20 from Monday to Thursday and about $30 from Friday to Sunday, payable by card only. The weekend rate applies on show nights and public holidays too. We would pay it on a concert night, when the garage queue after the show is the slowest part of the evening, and skip it on a quiet weekday.
The resort fee
The hotel charges $19.99 plus tax for every night of a stay. The hotel page does not list what the fee covers. When our desk quotes you a rate, we state whether the fee is inside the number or added at the front desk, so you can compare like with like against hotels that do not charge one.
Holds and deposits
At check-in, credit cards are pre-authorised for the full stay plus a security or incidental amount. Paying by cash or debit means paying the whole stay up front plus a deposit of up to 50 per cent of the room total. If you are on a tight travel budget, the hold on your card can matter more than the fee.
What is free besides parking
- The airport shuttle.
- Wi-Fi and bottled water in the room.
- Admission to watch live racing at Woodbine on race days, except King's Plate day, with free parking at the track.
