Itineraries · built around the shuttle windows

Four plans for 12, 24 and 48 hours at the resort

Every plan below is built from published times — check-in at 4 PM, check-out at 11 AM, shuttle windows of 6 AM–12 PM and 3 PM–9 PM, restaurant hours the operator lists — so you can see where the slack is.

Plan 1 · The night before an early flight (about 14 hours)

  1. 4:00 PM — Arrive and check in. If you drove, give the desk your plate number and leave the car in the free garage.
  2. 4:30 PM — Call 437-428-6329 and book your morning shuttle time. If your flight leaves before about 7 AM, book a taxi instead.
  3. 5:00 PM — Swim, then the sauna or steam room. At busy times the pool may run a sign-up; ask at check-in.
  4. 6:30 PM — Dinner. Copperhorn opens at 5 PM and is 19+; Lobster Legend Noodle Bar is all ages.
  5. 8:30 PM — Pack, set two alarms, close the blackout drapes.
  6. Morning — Shuttle from 6 AM to Terminal 1 or 3. Settle any incidentals the night before so the morning is just bags and bus.

Plan 2 · The late landing (about 12 hours)

  1. Land before 9 PM — Call for the shuttle from the arrivals level and go to Post F3 (Terminal 1) or Gate B, column 13 / Gate G, column 41 (Terminal 3).
  2. Land after 9 PM — Taxi or ride-share. Allow extra minutes at the entrance this autumn, while vehicles pass the picket line at intervals.
  3. Late supper — Casual is listed until 1 AM (19+); Lobster Legend until midnight Sunday to Thursday and 1 AM on Friday and Saturday.
  4. Next morning — Check-out by 11 AM; the morning shuttle runs until noon if you are flying on.

Plan 3 · A 24-hour layover with downtown

  1. Day 1, afternoon — Land, take the 3–9 PM shuttle, check in at 4 PM, eat on the property.
  2. Day 2, 8:00 AM — Morning shuttle to Pearson, then the UP Express to Union Station (28 minutes; trains every 15 minutes).
  3. Day 2, late morning — Downtown Toronto. If you have checked out by 11 AM, ask the front desk whether it can hold your bags; the hotel does not publish a luggage service, so confirm first.
  4. Day 2, before 8 PM — UP Express back to Pearson. Make your flight directly, or pick up the last shuttle window to the hotel if you are staying a second night.

This plan only works if the shuttle windows line up with your trains. If they do not, a taxi from the hotel to Union Station is about 28 km by road.

Plan 4 · 48 hours: race day and a show

  1. Friday, 4 PM — Check in to a Racetrack room (we confirm the view). Dinner at Casual or Copperhorn.
  2. Saturday, 1 PM — First post at Woodbine on November Saturdays. Admission is free except on King's Plate day.
  3. Saturday, evening — The Theatre, if a show is on: the box office and the coat check open two hours before the show. Guests of all ages enter from the hotel lobby elevators to level 2.
  4. Sunday, 11 AM — Check out; another race card starts at 1 PM if you want one more look.

Shows we have checked are listed on theatre and events. On 21 November 2026, for example, Woodbine listed a 1 PM post and the operator listed Ele Yan's Moment 2026 World Tour at The Theatre.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming the shuttle runs all day: it pauses from noon to 3 PM and stops at 9 PM.
  • Planning a family dinner at a 19+ restaurant.
  • Arriving at 11 AM and expecting a room: check-in starts at 4 PM.
  • Forgetting ID: the casino, the 19+ restaurants and the check-in desk all ask for government photo ID.

Ask our desk for a room

Hotel at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto · 19+ to book

Received. Our desk will check the hotel's availability and rate for your dates and reply by email, usually within one business day. Nothing is booked or charged until you confirm.

  • The desk of this independent site takes the request, checks availability and price with the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner, and answers by email.
  • We never ask for a card number here, and a request is not a booking.
  • How we are paid: if this request turns into a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner that completes it pays us a commission. It never costs you more.
