The resort sits in Rexdale, an area of north-west Toronto between Highway 427, Highway 401, Steeles Avenue and the Humber River. It is not a walking-tour district, but there is more nearby than an airport map suggests.
Rexdale takes its name from Rex Heslop, a developer who bought farmland here in 1955 and built one of Toronto's post-war suburbs, according to Wikipedia. Today the name covers a broad area of north Etobicoke centred on Rexdale Boulevard and Islington Avenue. Woodbine Racetrack, the Woodbine Centre mall, the Toronto Congress Centre and the North Campus of Humber Polytechnic are all within it. Expect wide roads, industrial parks and suburban plazas rather than streets to stroll.
Across Rexdale Boulevard from the racetrack, about 0.7 km by road from the resort on our measurement. Wikipedia describes 130-plus stores and Fantasy Fair, a year-round indoor amusement park with a Looff carousel; its Ferris wheel closed in April 2024. The mall went into receivership in May 2023, so check opening hours with the mall before you go.
650 Dixon Road, about 5.9 km by road. One of Canada's larger exhibition venues — Wikipedia lists over a million square feet across two buildings and 60 meeting rooms. If you are exhibiting, this hotel is a sensible base with free parking.
The college campus, formerly Humber College, is in Rexdale. Its station is the western end of Line 6 Finch West, which opened on 7 December 2025, and the TTC's 37A bus links it with the Woodbine Racetrack Loop.

About 6.6 km by road to Terminal 1. The airport is mostly in Mississauga, with a small part of the airfield in Etobicoke.
About 28.4 km by road to Union Station. Without a car, the hotel shuttle to Pearson plus the UP Express is the most predictable way in.
The casino expansion that produced the hotel came with a community benefits agreement. The Rexdale – Casino Woodbine Community Benefits Agreement was signed in 2018 between One Toronto Gaming, the operating company, and the City of Toronto. The operator reports 3,482 operational hires, 2,827 construction hires, 1,402 hires from equity-deserving groups and 315 local hires between 2018 and the first quarter of 2026, and says it gave the City $5 million towards a childcare centre across from the resort.
