Arriving during the 2026 labour dispute: what guests need to know

What happened

According to Unifor, members of Unifor Local 1090 working as security officers at the resort were locked out at 12:01 a.m. on 23 July 2026, after their collective agreement with Great Canadian Entertainment expired on 22 July. The union says about 100 workers run picket lines at the property's entrances. We report this as each side states it; we take no position on the dispute.

What the operator says

The operator's update page, last updated on 2 October 2026, says the resort remains open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and that the hotel, casino and restaurants are operating as usual, though access to some entrances may be affected. From 2 October, it says, vehicles are permitted through the picket line at regular intervals, with multiple vehicles cleared at least every three minutes; wait times can still vary with traffic, and security staff are on site to guide arrivals. Complimentary parking remains available. Guests are asked to check the resort's entrance map before arriving.

What reviewers report

On Trip.com, several reviews from summer stays mention the strike and long waits to get in; one describes waiting in the line for almost two hours. Those reviews predate the 2 October arrangement, so they may overstate today's delays — but they show why a margin matters.

Our advice while it lasts

• Add at least 30 minutes to any journey that ends at the property on a busy evening, and the same in the other direction before a flight.
• Check the operator's update page on the day you travel; it is the only source that changes as the situation does.
• If you are arriving on a show night, arrive early — the theatre FAQ already recommends it for security checks.
• The free airport shuttle is still listed with its usual hours; book your pick-up time as normal.
